Being Healthy is the Way to Go…

February4

One of my New Year’s resolution this year is to stay healthy, physically and mentally. I am committed and I’m following through with it no matter what!

Granted, it is not easy. In fact, it is down right tough. Trying to stay healthy physically and mentally means a drastic 360º change in my lifestyle.

BUT how can I achieve this when I’m residing in a country where shopping malls are the only source of entertainment and place to go? Where all types of food/cuisine can be easily found and constantly in my eye view? How to sleep early when there are so many distractions (computer, television, books, etc.) before, during and after bedtime?

WOW, so what do I do?

I take it one step at a time.

Instead of burdening myself down with rules and restrictions (which everyone hates and will not follow anyway because rules are meant to be broken!) I’ve started to slowly introduce new things to my body and mind, while slowly fazing out the old stuff. Of course, this is only workable with the help of those who you are close to you. For example, your partner, your parents, siblings or bestfriend. Why I am saying this is because the truth of the matter is, when we encounter CHANGE, it is always frightening and uncertain as we venture into the unknown. It takes guts and determination to follow through and  achieve what you set out to do. Therefore, why not make the journey easier with the help and support of our love ones? Those who love you, would want you to succeed and they will do everything in their power to help.

Before starting on my little adventure, I’ve conditioned my mind to accept CHANGE. To do so, I needed to embrace CHANGE and realize that it is all for the goodness of my soul.

So my first steps to achieving my New Year resolution are:

Mentally: To only shop for the things I need. These days, I always ask myself, “Do I really need this or do I wAnt it?” IF I answer that I do need it, then my next question to myself would be, “Do I need it now?” This tactic is not only good for the mind and soul but also extremely excellent for the pocket!

Physically: I make it a point to consume some ginger in my drink daily. Why ginger you ask? Well… below are some facts.

Ginger is commonly used as a cold remedy. It is said to boost the immune system, soothe sore throats, and treat bouts of flu. It is also believed to improve digestion and help relieve nausea.

Consider these known health benefits:

  • Improves circulation and blood flow
  • Relieves cold and flu symptoms
  • Eases stomach cramps, improves digestion and relieves nausea
  • Reduces menstrual cramping
  • Helps regulate blood sugar
  • Boosts the immune system

These are pretty easy to follow, no?

Come back and read what my next steps are. If I can do it, so can you! Let’s take this adventure together peeps ;)
